Stop World Hunger via Vocabulary Building

This is SO cool! I found out about it through Charity's blog, Writing Wrongs.

Free Rice

For each vocabulary word you get right, 10 grains of rice is donated through the United Nations to help end world hunger. The site started on October 7th, and 830 grains were donated that day. Yesterday, 26,881,930 grains of rice were donated.

A pretty good idea, no?

That's awesome - it's addictive and it's for a good cause. I can see me wasting hours there, and then being able to say I wasn't wasting them at all because I was fighting hunger!

Thalia's Child is right-- it's totally addictive! I really like the idea! If you don't mind I think I'll post this as well and leave you some linky love while I'm at it...

eh wow, it's not only fun...I am learning lots...if only I would remember the new words.

Didn't thehungersite.com already donate for the UN when you came to click? I used to do so.

But this is more fun and learning.

Yes!! I blogged about it today, too... and sent e-mail to everyone I know on the face of the earth.

This is wicked addictive. No wonder the totals have gone up. Me? I think I ended up donating about 300 grains. Should have been more but, well... guess I need to work on my vocab!
