NOLA residents (and too many others)

To all those traveling:

To all those who are part of the emergency teams who are staying behind:

To all those who may be out of contact with loved ones:

To all those who are from the surrounding coastal areas that may be hit:

To all those who already have been hit in Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Grand Cayman and other areas:

To all those who experienced the horrendous flooding in India:

Godspeed.

I have you in my heart and prayers.

If there is need for it (and I pray there isn't), I will be doing what I can to help, and I will post here ways to help. (And, obviously, post how to help the areas that have already been hit, because that help is already needed).

I'm so out of touch... I heard it was heading for them, but without the news/tv and newspaper... and with trying to shelter myself from the scary stories about crap that happens to children-I just stick to my google home page and never see any news-ever. EVER.

I better go check. Thanks for the post to remind me I need to put some little prayers out there.

I second that comment about a heart of could. I had a friend that was supposed to go down this weekend. She wasnt in this country for Katrina and underestimated the seriousness of this. I dont she grasps it still. Lets just hope the goverment is better with the response this time.

I know I say this again and again and again, but you are truly a beautiful person, Jen!

Can you even imagine what the teachers down there go through on a daily basis?!?

I really hope the storm weakens.

Amen!

I'm delighted that the storm is weakening. I'll feel better (or worse) by later today, though, when we see the beginning of the landfall. I'm so relieved that the evacuation was smoother this time, and that the federal government is at least trying to provide help ahead of time. We'll see how they ultimately do, though.

Hey Jen. thanks for the post. Cuba got hit pretty bad again by Ike. It's unbelievable if you think about it: the already impoverished cities get hit first (NOLA, Haiti, Cuba, etc..) so sad.
