Just for Fun: Coping Diet

It seems a lot of my buddies in bloggyland have been stressed lately.

I wish I could send you quick fixes, but maybe this will just give you a laugh, instead:

THE COPING DIET

Only girlfriends can understand this one (Someone else wrote this... I think guys can get this, too). This is specially formulated diet designed to help women (or the right man) cope with the stress that builds during the day. (Guys, your are free to try this, too. I know some male readers who would probably love it!)

Breakfast
1 grapefruit
1 slice whole wheat toast
1 cup skim milk

Lunch
1 small portion lean, steamed chicken
1 cup spinach
1 cup herbal tea
1 Hershey's kiss

Afternoon Snack
The rest of the Hershey kisses in the bag
1 tub of Hagen-Daaz ice cream with chocolate chips

Dinner
4 glasses of wine (red or white)
2 loaves garlic bread
1 family size supreme pizza
3 Snickers Bars

Late Night Snack
1 whole Sarah Lee cheesecake (eaten directly from the freezer)

Remember: Stressed spelled backward is desserts.

I LOVE that last line!

Perhaps I should write up a coping diet. It would likely include SEX, though! Lots of it! :)

I could have reached out through the tubes of the internets to slap you for those first few meals. Then snack time arrived. Aaah, I said, relaxing my war-like stance.

Perfect! And so so true, unfortunately.
LOL

Teri, I think you'd come up with a great coping diet. If I'd actually written this, I might have included some cosmopolitans along the way.

LOL, Sarabeth - I wouldn't do that to you! ;-)

Yes, Lilac, sad but true!

I know, Marianne - more brownies or chocolate or both. ;-)

Cool! I'll just print this out and take it to the grocery store. :)

Jen said...

Yeah, me, too, April. ;-)

I love the last line and now that is my motto.

Hahahaha! How perfect is that? I think I will go shopping for all the supplies right away!

Jen said...

It's a great saying, Dru.

Yeah, Jenn, it seems like a lot of us need those shopping trips!

Amen, Sister! Love it!

Jen said...

Thought you might like that, Kate!

Sounds good to me! :)

I think that this is a diet I can stick with!

Sounds perfect! I think I've been living this one to the letter this week!

Jen said...

Well, despite what I said about men, it seems to be the girlfriends who think this is a perfect diet. ;-)

See, Anno, you're already coping, then!

A woman after my own heart! You totally had my jaw dropped with the grapefruit, and the ONE hershey kiss, LOL :)

Swap the wine with beer, and this menu looks incredibly familiar.

Loved this post :)

Jen said...

Amy, I totally agree - is this a good post-conference diet?

Sandy, beer would be a good swap. Cosmos would be even better, IMHO.

If I were honest, I'd admit that my version has more red wine than Sara Lee. But that would take being honest.

Oh my gosh, I do this diet almost every day and I didn't even realize it! Haha!

Wow! That is almost exactly what I had to eat yesterday!... Except for the lunch thing. I just went right for the chocolate. :-)

So true.

Jen said...

You know, Anno, honesty is a good thing. ;-)

Me, too, Charrette.

I think I might go for an ice cream lunch, Sprite - after all, it's summer.

Yes, and sad, too, isn't it, Glamah?

The end of the day is ALWAYS better than the beginning.

Haha, this is really funneh, Jen! :D Thanks for the lulz.

Omg, lol! I had a double smores last night. I tend to want to eat when I feel sorry for myself.

But its funny, I eat hardly anything else during the day because it doesn't seem to have appeal anymore (or at least on the weekends when I don't really cook anything) so having a smore fits in nicely with my diet.

Jen, I left you some bling today. Go get it :)

Goofball said...

looks lovely. My breakfast actually looks very much like it ...just more slices of toast :p!

what are hershey's kisses??

Anonymous said...

I think I'm already on this diet...

Jen said...

Bren, I'd go for the fleur de sel caramel Haagen Daz - ooh la la!

PM, well, the breakfasts and lunches would, lol.

Jane, what a great point!

Sassy, I am SO there with you. Eating is my stress valve, unfortunately. And double s'mores sound GOOD!

Oooo, thanks, April, I'll be over there. We had no power yesterday, so I'm behind.

Goofball, Hershey's kisses are these little pieces of chocolate that are like milk chocolate tear drops that are wrapped in foil. Now they have a whole bunch of different types, as well - dark chocolate, peanut butter, caramel, with almonds, etc.

Me, too, Leslie... it's that time in the year.
