Because times are hard...

You MUST, yes, must, go visit NYC/Caribbean Ragazza immediately for this post.

Try to be upset about winter or anything else while watching the mashup.

Gave me the best laugh I've had in a while. And show her some love - she's the one who found this piece of genius.

Dru - wasn't it just way too much fun?

Me, too, Alex. I really needed it today, lol.

Thanks CG! She's always digging up the most interesting clips.

April - it's a great pick-me-up

Anno - maybe m would like it, too? BTW... another youtube find of yesterday... 5 second movies - the Attack of the Clones one (and its sequel), Jurassic Park and The Godfather and the Rocky parodies are particularly funny.

That has been a fave of mine, but it's been a while since I watched it. Thanks for the reminder -- and the grin it put on my face.

I saw the video on Gunfighter a year ago. I put it on a mix for a trip to Baltimore the kids and I took to visit a college friend (and godmother to one of my sons).

She is African-American and when the song came on she just DANCED up a storm, while driving, and showed the kids a side of her that they had never seen. I loved watching them smile in admiration and watching her get down. It was awesome.

So very (wicked) long story short, that song is very special to me.

Lend me some sugah
I am you' neighbah

PS - I've been missing you due to a book. I cannot put down Lionel Shriver's Post-Birthday Club. It is truly consuming me. As a fellow book-lover, I thought I should come clean on my absense of late. :)

No worries, SMID - blogging is for pleasure - and reading, family, TRAVEL (cough, cough) needs to take precedence. That's a wonderful story about your son's godmother!

Sassy and Los Angelista - it was a real pick-me-up, and very needed now that it's spring (see my post above, lol)
